Gott, Angela R. Endowed Scholarship

Angela Gott, a proud alumna of TÿÈÕ³Ô¹Ï School of Law established The Angela R. Gott Endowed Scholarship to honor her alma mater and support the next generation of legal professionals. During law school, Angela was an active member of the Law Association for Women. Inspired by the transformative impact her legal education has had on her career, she is dedicated to helping students with financial need pursue their aspirations and make meaningful contributions to the legal field.

Angela serves as lead counsel for intellectual property and commercial litigation matters, focusing on complex trademark, copyright, trade secret, unfair competition, and restrictive covenant cases at Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP. Angela also provides strategic counseling on the global protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, including trademark and copyright registration, portfolio management, and pre-litigation disputes.

Angela is deeply committed to giving back to her community and the legal profession. She currently serves on both the Advancement Council and the Intellectual Property Advisory Council at TÿÈÕ³Ô¹Ï School of Law and is the Vice President and Treasurer of the Judge John M. Manos American Inn of Court, serving on both its Executive and Program Committees. She is also a past President of the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association. Nationally, she contributes to the International Trademark Association through her service on its Pro Bono Committee and its North America Roundtables Project Team.

Angela has taught as an Adjunct Law Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law and as an Adjunct Instructor at TÿÈÕ³Ô¹Ï School of Law. She has earned recognition as a Chambers USA-ranked lawyer and has been named Lawyer of the Year for Litigation - IP (Cleveland) in 2025, 2023, and 2021 and for Trademark Law (Cleveland) in 2025 and 2022 by The Best Lawyers in America.

Angela earned her B.S. cum laude from Monmouth University and her J.D. magna cum laude from TÿÈÕ³Ô¹Ï School of Law.

The Angela R. Gott Endowed Scholarship provides crucial support to first-generation law students who embody perseverance and have a history of overcoming challenges. In recognition of Angela Gott's background and philanthropic interests, preference is given to applicants with full-time work experience before law school. Membership in the Law Association for Women is also a significant consideration.

Recipient selection will be made by the School of Law Scholarship Committee or the Dean.
