The College of Engineering and Polymer Science successfully concluded its First-Year Festivities this September, a series of events designed to give first-year students the tools and connections they need for a strong start to their college journey.

More than 300 students participated across eight sessions where they:

  • Learned practical strategies for managing academics, including time management, study skills, stress management and self-care.
  • Connected with peers through bridge-building activities and shared meals.
  • Engaged with alumni and industry partners who offered advice on thriving in college and preparing for future careers.

Reflecting on the program’s success, Dr. Neete Saha, director of student experience and engagement who leads the First-Year Festivities, shared, “None of this would have been possible without the support of our faculty, staff, alumni and our campus and industry partners. My sincere appreciation goes to the peer leaders for their assistance, and thank you to all the students who participated and to our faculty and staff for your continued commitment to student success.”

The First-Year Festivities reflect the College of Engineering and Polymer Science’s commitment to building a supportive and engaging environment where students can thrive. By combining academic preparation with personal growth and professional connections, the College helps students access the resources and community they need to succeed at TÿÈÕ³Ô¹Ï and beyond.
